Richard L. “Dick” Tassinari, 67, of Mount Wolf died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy. He was the husband of Cheryl (Etter) Tassinari. Mr. and Mrs. Tassinari celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on June 10, 2014.Born March 30, 1947 in York, he was the son of Thelma (Kann) Tassinari of York and the late Vincent Tassinari.Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam. He received the Bronze Star.He was a foreman for Stewart &Tate, Inc for 44 years.Dick was a 1965 graduate of Central York High School. He was a member of Holy Infant Parish, York Haven. Dick was also a member of the Hawk Gunning Club, American Legion Post 791, Shiloh, and the West York VFW Post 8951.In addition to his wife and mother, Dick is survived by a son, Rich Tassinari of Dover; a daughter, Gretchen and her husband, Andrew Tyler of Charleston, S.C.; a grandson, Ian Tassinari of Dover; and 3 sisters, Kathryn Ridolfi of Maryland, Norma Smith of York, and Patricia Huson of York.Funeral services will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market Street, York with the Very Rev. Edward C. Malesic, his pastor, officiating. Private burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
