344. Mary Conn

Contributed by Linda Jean Conn - 8 Sep 2009

Notes for MARY LOUISE CONN:
Mary had a baby shortly before she died in the flu epedemic of 1918. The baby was placed for adoption. Gladys Presson Conn, first wife of Otto, remembers that Mary was a sad soul, sitting in the window looking out for hours. She wasn't allowed to go outside because of her "condition", her pregnancy. Family story has it that she had been picking potatoes, and got cold and damp, took sick and then died. She is buried in Dogwood Cemetery, E. Prairie, MO. Have copy of her death certificate, File #40909, which lists cause of death as influenza.
